IMPROVEMENTS TO OLIVE-PITTING AND -STUFFING MACHINES

Starting from the basic structure of a continuous pitting machine of the type provided with a rotary drum in which there is a plurality of operating lines on each of which sequential olive-pitting takes place, with the assistance of a fixed bed (2), a pitting nozzle (3) with the corresponding annular cutting blade thereof, and a counterposed pitting punch (9), the invention involves mounting, on said pitting punch (9), a second cutting nozzle (12) that, on the olive (1), creates a second "lid" (4'), counterposed with respect to the lid (4) of conventional pitting, thereby producing, in the olive (1), a wide axial housing open at both ends, which allows a larger measure of stuffing material and better retention thereof. Furthermore, when the stuffing consists of strips of bell pepper, said strips are folded to form a flat ring, using a shaping device, such that the join (14) closing said flat ring (5) is in the centre of the olive, which also enhances the stability thereof.
