PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system, capable of confirming the operation state of an apparatus connected to an indoor device (master device), or capable of controlling the operation of the apparatus, with a simple operation, by using an outdoor device (slave device). SOLUTION: The intercom system includes the indoor device (master device) 1 and the outdoor device (slave device) 2, wherein an operation button on the slave device is operated as a trigger. An inhabitant inputs a keyword by a specific trigger operation or voice to, for example, a microphone 22 or an imaging device 20 captures an image of the inhabitant's face. Only when a slave device controller (trigger operation determining section) 27 determines that a specific operation is executed, a predetermined signal is output, thereby confirming the state or the setting of an electric appliance such as an electric lock 50 or a gas appliance which is connected to the indoor device 1, and the state or the setting is switched.
