PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel lock device for a wheelchair, which can be installed regardless of the size or shape of the wheelchair, and of which installation work is facilitated. SOLUTION: The wheel lock device B includes a drive mechanism 3 fixed to a frame 1 of the wheelchair A, and disposed on both sides of a seat surface 2, a disc 5 fixed to a wheel 4, and a lock mechanism 6 to lock the disc. The drive mechanism 3 includes a support member 10 fixed to the frame of the wheelchair, and a rotating member 12 supported by the support member 10 to interlock with vertical motion of the seat surface. On the rotating member 12, one end of an outer cable 22 is fixed, and the other end is extended to the lock mechanism 6. The lock mechanism 6 includes an engagement pin 41 which is engaged and released with/from an engagement hole 50 formed on the disc 5, and a frame 40 fixed to the wheelchair. One end of a wire 23 inserted to the outer cable 22 is fixed to the support member 10, and the other end is fixed to the engagement pin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
