<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a lithium nickel composite oxide which achieves sufficient charge-discharge characteristics when used as a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, even in industrial-scale mass production. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium nickel composite oxide is obtained by a production method including a drying step of drying a mixture of lithium hydroxide and a nickel composite oxide in an atmosphere under partial pressure of carbon dioxide of ≤10 Pa so that a mass reduction ratio of the mixture becomes ≤5 mass% when the mixture is dried and held in a vacuum at 200°C for 8 h, a reaction step of bringing the mixture after drying into a diffusion reaction in an atmosphere with oxygen concentration of ≥80 vol.% at 450-650°C, and a sintering step of sintering the mixture passed through the reaction step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
