PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein configuration for recycling ink is complicated and ink characteristics are changed (deteriorated) by mixing reprocessed ink with new ink. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus includes a reprocessing unit 4 for reprocessing an X-color ink with inks of YMCK mixed, into a usable condition; a storage tank 5 storing the reprocessed X-color ink; a head 1x ejecting the X-color ink; and a collection unit 8 and a maintenance unit 9 collecting and discarding the ink from the head 1x.
