Actuator system with stepping motor

The method involves displacing a rotor with high amplitude in a displacement direction of a piston (17), and interrupting current in a stator phase. Voltage induced on the phase is measured. The rotor is displaced with low amplitude in another direction when a voltage value indicates that the rotor does not traversed a return path. The displacement of rotor, the current interruption and the voltage measurement are carried out till detection of the voltage corresponding to the path, resulting from elastic return force when a mechanical clearance between the piston and a cam (12) is compensated. An independent claim is also included for an actuating system comprising a control system.
