PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter and optical equipment, in which shavings are inhibited from being caused. SOLUTION: The focal plane shutter 1 is equipped with: a substrate 10; a blade 21b; a driving arm 32b having an engaging hole 34b and coupled with the blade 21b; a rear curtain driving lever 41b having a driving pin 41b8 engaged with the engaging hole 34b; and a regulation part 35b provided in the driving arm 32b, made to be thicker than thickness of the driving arm 32b, and contacting the driving pin 41b8. The engaging hole 34b includes: a first edge part 34b1 on a starting-end side when the driving pin 41b8 moves in a predetermined direction; and a second edge part 34b2 on a termination side when the driving pin 41b8 moves in the predetermined direction. The regulation part 35b allows the contact with the second edge part 34b2 and the driving pin 41b8, but regulates the contact with the first edge part 34b1 and the driving pin 41b8 by the contact between the regulation part 35b and the driving pin 41b8.
