PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generator and a power generation method using a special rotor and inertia capable of carrying out stable power generation by carrying out attachment and detachment of a rotary shaft and a drive at intended timing. SOLUTION: The power generator and the power generation method include the special rotor 4 with a weight part attached to its tip, the rotary shaft 6 attached with the special rotor 4 so as to rotate, a driving rotating means detachably disposed in one end side of the rotary shaft 6, and a power generating means disposed in another end side of the rotary shaft 6.
