Provided are a radio transmitting apparatus and a radio transmitting method whereby the use efficiency of frequencies shared between an existing communication system and a new communication system can be improved, while the degradation of throughput of the existing communication system can be suppressed. An interference suppressing unit (105) performs, based on information of bands used by the existing communication system, interference suppressions, such as amplitude suppression, spreading and modulation scheme correction, of modulated data from a data modulating unit (103). A subcarrier mapping unit (109) allocates a subcarrier, which is to be used for transmission of a signal generated by the local radio transmitting apparatus, to a guard-band included in a band used by the existing communication system, and superimposes the signal on the subcarrier allocated to the guard-band.
