PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing by changing the kind of transparent ink with which an image is coated. SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes: (A) a conveying part for conveying a medium in the conveying direction; (B) a first head unit including (b1) a first nozzle row in which a plurality of nozzles are arranged in the conveying direction and which delivers a drawing ink for forming the image on the medium and (b2) a first irradiating part having an irradiating means for irradiating the drawing ink delivered on the medium with a light for curing temporarily the drawing ink, and moving in the intersecting direction to the conveying direction; and (C) a second irradiating part having (c1) a second nozzle row for delivering either one of a first clear ink and a second clear ink having different flexibilities after curing and being clear, and (c2) an irradiating means for irradiating the first clear ink and the second clear ink delivered on the medium with a light for temporarily curing the inks. The printing apparatus further includes a second head unit arranged downstream of the first head unit in the conveying direction, and moving in the intersecting direction.
