PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of dispensing with a point contact between a pressure terminal and a terminal seat when a terminal screw is slackened and surely detecting connection failure by making a contact condition quickly result in a non-contact condition. SOLUTION: A connection failure detection circuit is connected to a power supply side terminal 2 connected to an electric wire 4 through the pressure terminal 5, the terminal seat 20 is covered with a terminal cover 10 with an end adjacent to an upper side section of the connected pressure terminal 5, and the pressure terminal 5 is sandwiched by the terminal cover 10 and a controlling plate 11 by preparing the controlling plate 11 adjacent to a lower side section of the pressure terminal 5 on a side face of a housing 1 as a lower part of the terminal seat 20. The connection failure detection circuit determines the connection failure from a potential difference generated between the electric wire 4 and the terminal seat 20 by detecting voltage of terminal seat 20 as well as voltage of the electric wire 4 through a nut 22, and if determining that it is connection failure, the connection failure detection circuit blocks an electric circuit in the same way as abnormal current such as excessive current flows.
