<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell securing depth of a buffer part, easily reduced in thickness, and capable of preventing an electrolyte membrane from being damaged as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell unit 12 structuring the fuel cell 10 includes: a first metallic separator 14; a first electrolyte membrane and electrode structure 16a; a second metallic separator 18; a second electrolyte membrane and electrode structure 16b; and a third metallic separator 20. The first electrolyte membrane and electrode structure 16a includes: a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 80; and an anode side electrode 82 and a cathode side electrode 84 pinching the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 80. In both surfaces of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 80 of the first electrolyte membrane and electrode structure 16a, an outer peripheral edge part 80b opposite to an inlet buffer part 52 is exposed outside, and a reinforcing film 86 smaller in thickness than a gas diffusion layer 84a is provided only in the outer peripheral edge part 80b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
