PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle for a jug such as an earthen teapot or iron teapot allowing a turn-up part to be securely inserted into a coil spring without contracting the coil spring even if a fingertip or the like touches an end of the coil spring while the jug is used. SOLUTION: A recess 6 is formed in a side edge 5 of at least one turn-up part 13, and a handle body has such resilient force as to push out the inner diameter of the coil spring 2 brought into press-contact with the turn-up part 13. A part of a spring wire 7 of the pushed-out coil spring 2 is moved in the direction of returning to the original position to be locked to the recess 6 of the turn-up part 13.
