PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate recycling a large-screen plasma display device by providing a method for easily peeling a front filter stuck to a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In the method for peeling a front filter for a plasma display panel including a PDP 10 where a front substrate 11 and a rear substrate 17 are disposed to face each other and have circumferences sealed, and a front filter 60 stuck to the front surface side of the front substrate 11 in the PDP 10, a step of peeling the front filter 60 off the PDP 10 includes, at least, a cutting step of cutting the front filter 60 into a plurality of pieces and a peeling step of peeling the plurality of cut pieces of the front filter 60 off the front substrate 11.
