PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-impregnated sintered bearing for lateral pressure of a motor that surely prevents detachment of a biasing member from a lateral-pressure bearing, even if disturbance such as sudden impact occurs, and to provide a method of manufacturing the oil-impregnated sintered bearing. SOLUTION: The oil-impregnated sintered bearing 2 for lateral pressure is formed in a shape that a placing part 21 for placing a biasing member thereon is provided at the lower end of a circular truncated cone in which the upper (the side of a turntable) outer-diameter is large and the lower (the side of a stator member) outer-diameter is small. The lateral-pressure bearing 2 is configured as follows. A sizing bar 91 is inserted from the side of the placing part, where the inner diameter of a circular-truncated-cone shaped bearing hole 72 formed in a sintered compact 7 is large, and pressed against the bearing hole, thereby forming the bearing hole 72 in a substantially columnar shape, and also, forming the sintered compact 7 in a substantially circular-truncated-cone shape that the placing part is provided at the lower end of the circular truncated cone in which the upper outer-diameter is large and the lower outer-diameter is small.
