PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system which facilitate the identification of an end user. SOLUTION: A router monitors data link layer address information, e.g., information included in a data packet transmitted by a client node for expanding network and application service functionality, and uses a data link layer address of a client node to identify a host and its related end user.
