The retainer (1) has a plastic sleeve (3) forming openings and a hollow chamber (2) and designed as an injection molding part. Metal films (5) or metallic reinforcing elements are deformed by a partial region at an internal periphery (4) and/or an external periphery with an injection pressure. The metal films or metallic reinforcing elements include an upper surface free from functional elements e.g. threads, provided before rear injection or insert molding, and is firmly connected to a barrier layer (6) that represents adhesive agent at a joint region (7). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a screw thread retainer.
