PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of recovering excellently a discharged toner, even when using in common a power source for discharging the toner from a voltage application member to a moving body, and a power source for recovering the discharged toner from the moving body to an image carrier. SOLUTION: The image forming device 100 is constituted as follows: when performing by a common power source 40, a voltage application member cleaning step of repeating alternately an operation for applying a voltage having a first polarity to the voltage application member 32 and a transfer member 5a during a first time zone, and an operation for applying a voltage having a second polarity during a second time zone, the power source 40 switches the polarity of an application voltage from the second polarity to the first polarity before a domain of the moving body in contact with the voltage application member in the first time zone arrives at a transfer part, and switches the polarity of the application voltage from the first polarity to the second polarity before the domain of the moving body in contact with the voltage application member in the second time zone arrives at the transfer part.
