<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial machine which can easily suppress a load given to electric power equipment even when a large peak electric power consumption is generated in a facility while an operator works, and to provide an electric power consumption control system. <P>SOLUTION: In a machine tool Mi which machines a workpiece while relatively moving a tool and the workpiece, electric power detection instruments 11-13 measure electric power consumption Wi and electric power consumptions W1, W2 of the machine tool Mi and other machine tools Mp1, Mp2, respectively, and an electric power monitoring instrument 20 obtains electric power consumption Wt in the facility and provides information regarding the electric power consumption Wt to the machine tool Mi.
