PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment for switching characters at the timing when a user desires, and improving user's convenience.

SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment is equipped with: a character display unit 34 for forming irregularities on a screen and displaying characters; an input detection unit 36 for detecting contact to the character display unit 34; and a control unit 22 for switching characters to be displayed on the character display unit 34 when the input detection unit 36 detects that a contact to the character display unit 34 has satisfied a preset condition.
