PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of storing packing, the method that suppresses generation of defects such as wrinkles when optical films of≤50μm thick taken up in rolls are stored (including transportation) in a place having a large change in ambient temperature. SOLUTION: Optical films with thickness≤50μm are taken up in rolls, with the rolled film packed and stored by covering with a heat insulation sheet having a heat radiation value <0.2 on the surface. The optical films may be stretched retardation films. The method is also effective where the optical films are composed of olefin resin, acrylic resin, polyester resin, or cellulose resin, and is particularly effective for the retardation films composed of cyclic olefin resin containing structural units derived from alicyclic olefin.
