PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately carry out dust collection in a required part without leaving an unsucked part while preventing waste of equipment ability and a fall an in machining efficiency in a wood precutting apparatus having a plurality of machining shafts. SOLUTION: The plurality of machining shafts are arranged spaced from each ohter along a conveying path, and at least three dust collecting branch pipes branched from a dust collecting main pipe include separate dust collecting branch pipe dampers respectively. A control device 100 determines and carries out control of: placing each of the dust collecting branch pipe dampers 10c, 11c, 13c, 15c into an "open" state when driving the machining shaft to carry out dust collection through the installed dust collecting branch pipe; and after the machining by the machining shaft is completed, maintaining an "open" state until the following machining by the other machining shaft is completed, and then switching to a "closed" state, based on the machining order determined based on machining data.
