<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber sheet and a method for producing the carbon fiber sheet in and by which the contact resistance between a separator and the carbon fiber sheet dose not increase while the contact surface area between an electrolyte layer and the carbon fiber sheet is increased. <P>SOLUTION: Many fine pores are formed in fibers constituting a surface (hereafter referred to as a surface A) on the catalyst electrode layer-contacting side of the carbon fiber sheet to increase the surface area of the carbon fibers, thus increasing the contact area of the carbon fiber sheet with the catalyst electrode layer. Simultaneously, fine pores are not formed on a separator-contacting surface, namely, a surface (hereafter referred to as a surface B) on the back side of the surface A to inhibit the increase in the contact resistance of the carbon fiber sheet with the separator, thereby improving the performance of a fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
