<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem type image forming apparatus which has a low height, and suppresses the occurrence of the trouble that may be caused in a space leading to a fixing device from a nip part between a secondary transfer member and an intermediate transfer belt. <P>SOLUTION: A tandem type full color printer 100 employs a curved guiding conveyance path P3 in the space leading to the fixing device 9 from the nip part N between the secondary transfer member 8 and the intermediate transfer belt 7 therein, and a plurality of exposure units 3 corresponding to a plurality of printing units Y, M, C and K, respectively, are successively arranged in a line in a horizontal direction.
