PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium capable of forming a lubricant film with a uniform film thickness on a surface of the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing the magnetic recording medium for forming the lubricant film on the surface of the magnetic recording medium 100 by immersing the disk-like magnetic recording medium 100 having a center hole 100a in an immersion tank 1 in which a liquid lubricant L is contained and then pulling up the magnetic recording medium 100 from the immersion tank 1 includes a hanger mechanism 2 inserted through the center hole 100a of the magnetic recording medium 100 and supporting the magnetic recording medium 100 in a suspended state and a rise and fall mechanism 3 performing the rise and fall operation of either of the hanger mechanism 2 and the immersion tank 1 to the other where the hanger mechanism 2 has support plates 4a and 4b whose upper ends abut on the inner peripheral part of the magnetic recording medium 100 and liquid draining plates 7a and 7b curved along the inner peripheral part of the magnetic recording medium 100 from lower ends of the support plates 4a and 4b.
