<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp mounting adapter which is suitable for practical use. <P>SOLUTION: A hanging ceiling mounting section 37 to be mounted on a hanging ceiling is mounted on an upper side of an adapter body 36. A socket to be mounted with a lamp is mounted on a lower side of the adapter body 36. A locking mechanism 68 is arranged on the hanging ceiling mounting section 37 while the hanging ceiling mounting section 37 is mounted on the hanging ceiling. A release button 70 for releasing locking of the locking mechanism 68 is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the adapter body 36.
