PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detecting device for ensuring a state that a float undergoes a buoyancy, and reducing a physical size of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The liquid level detecting device 1, provided in an oil pan 7, includes: the float 23 vertically moved in response to a liquid level of an oil within the oil pan 7; a magnet 24 mounted to be vertically moved along with the float 23; a reed switch 20 having two terminals 20a, 20b between which an electrical connection is made or broken by the magnet 24; and an oil storage part 3 as a bowl upwardly opened, enclosing a side and a bottom of the float 23, and internally storing the oil.
