The technical result of the invention consists in that the proposed design of the cylinder ensures a high degree of operational efficiency at any set level of cyclic loading with a high pressure and torques at a minimum weight and manufacturing cost thereof. The technical result is achieved in that the pressure cylinder comprises a thin-walled, metallic cylindrical liner with profiled end plates and a neck flange with a connecting piece fixed in the polar opening of a high-strength casing consisting of composite material, said casing being formed by a combination of groups of layers of reinforcing material fibres oriented in helical and circumferential directions with different reinforcing powers, wherein the neck flange of the liner is equipped with an annular projection on the side of the open end of the connecting piece with an outer diameter which is greater than the sum of the diameter of the polar opening of the composite casing and two times the width of the strip of reinforcing material fibres which is being wound, and a concentric annular cavity is formed between the outer surface of the composite casing and said liner, with an annular band formed from the material of the composite casing being arranged in said cavity in such a way as to fill the entire volume thereof, and the connecting piece of the neck flange is fixed in the annular band with the aid of grooves with a non-circular shape.
