PURPOSE: A differential assembly with features for improved lubrication is provided to solve the problem with heat transfer only to the housing of an axle assembly. CONSTITUTION: A differential assembly with features for improved lubrication comprises an axle housing assembly, lubricant and a differential(304). The axle housing assembly comprises a housing structure, which has an inner cavity with a sump. The lubricant is arranged in the sump and has a liquid lubricant level. The differential is mounted on the axle housing assembly to be able to rotate about a first shaft. The differential comprises a ring gear. The ring gear generates an annular stream of lubricant adjoining the ring gear above the liquid lubricant level during operation of the differential at a rotational speed greater than a predetermined rotational speed.
