The sheet metal loading and unloading unit (1) has a stationary unit (2) and a sheet metal retaining unit (6). A device is provided for adjusting a sheet metal, where a drive device is provided for moving the sheet metal retaining unit in a horizontal axis. The sheet metal retaining unit has a tool retainer (10) for adjusting a sheet metal processing tool (11). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sheet metal processing machine, which has controlling device; and (2) a method for inserting and changing of tools.
