PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating animal excrement preventing damage of its air-intake member. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for treating animal excrement includes a fermentation tank 2 for fermenting animal excretion, an air-intake member 4 that comprises a plurality of perforations and is disposed in the lower part of the fermentation tank 2, a traveling body 3 that travels forward/backward on a track disposed on the fermentation tank 2, a rotating wheel M attached to the traveling body 3 to wind the air-intake member 4, a rope R disposed inside the air-intake member 4 with its one end attached to the air-intake member 4 and the other end attached to the rotating wheel M, and a remover member S attached to the traveling body 3 to remove the animal excretion present on the air-intake member 4 disposed in the fermentation tank 2.
