<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily and accurately managing a parts counter. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus in which a first unit having one or a plurality of exchangeable parts and mounted removably in a body apparatus, and a second unit having one or a plurality of exchangeable parts the same as the first unit are exchangeable includes a display part; a storage part that stores values counted by a counter for the first unit that counts the lifetimes of the parts in the first unit, and a counter for the second unit that counts the lifetimes of the parts in the second unit; and a control section that determines, when the first unit is exchanged for the second unit, whether the plurality of parts are mounted in the exchanged second unit, and switches the counter to be used from the counter for the first unit to the counter for the second unit, when it is determined that the plurality of parts are mounted therein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
