<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a head mount display that provides both 2D display and 3D display without a hitch and at low cost, is compact and lightweight, and has a wide view angle. <P>SOLUTION: This head mount display includes an image display section including a display element 2, an optical component 3A for image division, and two lenses 4R and 4L, namely right and left lenses. In the image display section, the shift amount of the lateral direction of an image when a right-eye image and a left-eye image are displayed is set in a predetermined range.
