<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which shortens a printing time of a printing instruction including character information and font data, and improves a use efficiency of a memory. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus (10) is equipped with: a page description language analysis section (26) for analyzing a printing instruction; a storing section (20) for storing resident font data; and a printing section (16) for forming an image, based on the analysis result of the page description language analysis section (26). When a type of a printing instruction includes downloading font data to be used for drawing character information, the printing section (16) prints the character information by using the resident font data instead of the downloading font data, based on existence or non-existence, or a condition, of the downloading font data in the printing instruction analyzed by the page description language analysis section (26), or based on an instruction other than the printing instruction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
