An internal combustion engine for a ship, comprising: cylinder sections (2) which receive air and fuel to generate rotational driving force and which discharge exhaust gas; an exhaust gas receiver (3) which receives the exhaust gas discharged from the cylinder sections (2); an outer combustion tube (9) which receives the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust gas receiver (3); an inner combustion tube (8) which is disposed within the outer combustion tube (9) and which ejects the air for combustion and the fuel toward the inside of the outer combustion tube (9) to combust the exhaust gas present within the outer combustion tube (9); a supercharger (5) for supercharging air, which is to be supplied to the cylinder sections (2), by being driven by the exhaust gas which is heated within the outer combustion tube (9) and discharged from the outer combustion tube (9); and a denitration section which has a catalyst for reducing the nitrogen oxide contained in the exhaust gas discharged from the supercharger (5).
