PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of a signal waveform the variation of which is small. SOLUTION: In this waveform display device (waveform display method) wherein a plurality of signal waveforms are displayed in superposition in a waveform display area, the variation of each signal waveform within a first time prescribed beforehand is specified (step 51), while the signal waveforms are displayed in superposition in a unit display area A corresponding to the first time in the waveform display area so that the signal waveform having the largest variation is displayed on the most back side in the unit display area A (step 52 and steps 53 and 54). The signal waveforms are displayed in superposition in the unit display area A so that the signal waveform having the smallest variation is displayed on the most front side (step 52 and steps 53 and 54). The signal waveforms are displayed in superposition in the unit display area A, in the order beginning from the signal waveform having the largest variation (step 52 and steps 53 and 54).
