PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very simply structured liquid detection device, capable of detecting the run down state of a liquid with high accuracy and of being readily attached to an apparatus discharging the liquid by a pump. SOLUTION: The liquid detection device 20 detects run down state of the liquid to be fed to the pump 2 and stops the pump 2. A tube 21, constituting a part of a water absorption tube 3 of the pump 2, is provided with a circuit board 22 outputting a signal indicating the existence of the liquid, when the liquid is detected as a liquid detection sensor, and a screw 24 electrically connected to the circuit board 22 and functioning as an electrode of the liquid detection sensor. The tube 21 is connected to a portion serving as the water absorbing tube 3 of the pump 2. The screw 24 has functions as the screw 24 fastening the circuit board 22 to the tube 21 and a function as the electrode of the liquid detection sensor, being electrically connected to the circuit board 22. The liquid detection device 20 is disposed at a portion downhill of a peak 14 higher than a surrounding area of the tube 21 to the pump 2 side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
