Disclosed are an electrode assembly, a method of manufacturing the electrode assembly, and a secondary battery including the electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a first electrode coated with a first active material, a second electrode coated with a second active material, and a separator located between the first and second electrodes for insulating the first electrode from the second electrode. The first and second electrodes and the separator are wound into a jelly-roll. At least one of the first and second electrodes includes a non-coated portion where an active material is not coated on a roll-starting end or a roll-finishing end of the at least one of the first and second electrodes, the non-coated portion is located at a region of a first side surface or a second side surface of the at least one electrode, and the region having the non-coated portion does not face an electrode having a different polarity from the at least one of the first and second electrodes with the separator interposed therebetween. |
