PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus that improve image quality. SOLUTION: The optical scanner 30 includes a light source 34, a light deflector 35, an incident optical system for the light deflector 35, and an image forming optical system for condensing the light scanned by the light deflector 35. Two or more light rays deflected by the light deflector 35 pass through the positions symmetrical with respect to the generatrix 33 of a plastic lens 31 disposed in the image forming optical system. The plastic lens 31 has incomplete transcription parts 32 (32a and 32b) on the two facing surfaces where the light rays do not pass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
