PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a metal on the surface of silicone rubber, in which a preprocess of electroless plating on the surface of the silicone rubber is simplified or electroconductivity is imparted to the surface of the silicone rubber by direct electroplating without performing electroless plating. SOLUTION: The surface of silicone rubber containing silicon is treated with a silane coupling agent containing a thiol group or a polysulfide group or the surface of the silicone rubber is treated with a silane coupling agent, then treated with a silane compound, and further, treated with a silane coupling agent containing a thiol group or a polysulfide group. Thereafter, a metal compound is brought into contact with each of the treated surfaces. Thereby, the metal constituting the metal compound is reduced, and formed metal particles are fixed.
