PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and simplicity of micro tweezers, a manufacturing method and operating method thereof. SOLUTION: The micro tweezers includes: a frame 1 composed of an arm support 2 and a pair of arm portions 3 which are mounted on the arm support and whose front ends are made to serve as holding portions 9; a drive element composed of chalcogenide glass thin films 10, 11 of any one of As-S, As-Se and As-S-Se fitted on the a pair of arms; and laser beam irradiation means of irradiating the chalcogenide glass thin films with laser beams through polarizing holding type optical fibers 12 and 13.
