The invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering; in particular, to the construction of bicycles. The bicycle drivetrain comprises reciprocating moving levers directly driving a ratchet wheel which is mounted on a driven axle. The levers (1, 2) are connected to the axle via an overrunning ratchet clutch (4). In the first and second variant embodiments, the pedal levers (1, 2) are connected by a flexible link (8) bending round a pulley (9) on the frame. In the first variant embodiment, the axle is rigidly connected to a driving sprocket (5). In the second and third variant embodiments, the axle is the axle of the driving wheel. In the third variant embodiment for a wheelchair drivetrain, the lever is provided with a handle. The solution is directed towards reducing intermediate transmission elements and enhancing efficiency accordingly.
