PURPOSE: A rechargeable battery is provided to prevent the explosion or firing of the rechargeable battery by causing the short circuit in the increase of inner pressure and to disconnect electrical connection between a terminal and an electrode group. CONSTITUTION: A rechargeable battery(110) comprises: an electrode assembly(10) which has a positive electrode(11), a negative electrode(12), and a separator(13) and is accommodated in a battery case; a cap plate(28) including a short member(43) which is connected to the battery case and is configured to electrically connect the positive and negative electrodes; and a current collector comprising at least one fuse part(31a,32a) electrically connected to one of the positive and negative electrodes. |
