PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover the configuration of a folder conforming to the standard of recording medium. SOLUTION: An AVCHD folder 31 is recorded in an ABC folder 91. For appropriately controlling the AVCHD folder 31 in the recording medium A 11, the AVCHD folder 31 need be recorded in the ROOT folder, namely in the recording medium A 11. Thus, the AVCHD folder 31 is automatically moved to the recording medium A 11 conforming to the standard of the recording medium A 11 as recovering processing to appropriately control the AVCHD folder 31.
