PURPOSE: A portable calorimetry apparatus utilizing an inter-digital capacitor(IDC) is provided to facilitate the portability by downsizing the portion of a sensor which measures the amount of generated sweat and improve the accuracy of measuring of consumed calories due to the sufficient space. CONSTITUTION: A calorimetry apparatus is composed of a controller(201), an IDC sensor(203), a display unit(205), an input unit(207), and a memory unit(209). The controller transmits one or more commends like start, stop and end of the calorimetry to the display unit and controls the IDC sensor by commend. The controller directs the IDC sensor to measure the amount of generated sweat. The controller measures calories after the controller receives the amount of generated sweat measured by the IDC sensor and then transmits the measured result to the display unit. The controller transmits the amount of generated sweat and the measured calories to the memory unit.
