A system for the detection of flame using ultrasounds is disclosed herein. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system comprises an ultrasound directional guide oriented towards an expected position of the flame, at least one ultrasound transducer positioned relative the guide so as to emit an ultrasound detecting beam therein towards the expected position of the flam and at least one ultrasound controller coupled to the at least one transducer for receiving a signal therefrom indicative of a presence of the flame.
