<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element which improves the luminous efficiency, and to provide a method of manufacturing the light-emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting element includes: a substrate; first and second light-emitting cells each having a first conductivity-type upper semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type, an active layer, a lower semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type, and holes which pass through the lower semiconductor layer of the second conductivity type and the active layer to expose the upper semiconductor layer of the first conductivity type; and a connector located between the first and second light-emitting cells and the substrate for electrically connecting the first and second light-emitting cells. The hole of the first light-emitting cell and the hole of the second light-emitting cell are located in central zones of the first and second light-emitting cells, respectively, and the connector electrically connects the lower semiconductor layer of the second conductivity type of the first light-emitting cell and the upper semiconductor layer of the first conductivity type exposed to the interior of the hole of the second light-emitting cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
