PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a rod-like electrode favorably attachable to a welding torch when using a holder for automatically exchanging a welding rod-like electrode. SOLUTION: A holder for automatically exchanging a welding rod-like electrode, which holder is used when automatically exchanging a rod-like electrode 10 to be attached to a welding torch, is provided with a notched part 24 having two wall parts, which are formed in a V-shape with a prescribed angle. There are provided: a holding member 23 for holding the rod-like electrode between the two wall parts; and energizing members 25, 26 for elastically energizing, toward the intersection of the two wall parts, the rod-like electrode disposed between the two wall parts. The rod-like electrode is energized by the energizing members so as to be held between the two wall parts of the holding member in parallel with the intersection of the two wall parts.
