PURPOSE: An image display device and an operation method thereof are provided to offer sound corresponding to each thumbnail image while displaying the thumbnail image for channel browsing. CONSTITUTION: An image display device displays the list of a thumbnail image including one or more thumbnail images(S510). The image display device is input a selection signal for one or more thumbnail images(S520). If the output of a channel browsing sound and the output of sound for a main image is determined, the image display device outputs the sound for the main image and the channel browsing sound(S530~S550).
