PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handy terminal which can be started next time so as to be updated again even if rewriting an FROM portion fails. SOLUTION: Two OS data regions for OS data 33, 34 are provided in the FROM inside the handy terminal 3. An OS start flag, which indicates the start out of two OS data in an EEPROM 39 according to a result of rewriting the OS regions, is so changed as to indicate the start using the OS data successfully rewritten, thereby determining the next start region.
